WICHITA FALLS, TX — The Wichita Falls Warriors are pleased to announce that they have signed left-handed defenseman Jack Blanchett to a tender contract for the 2020-21 season.
The 2003-born skater enjoyed a breakout offensive season with HoneyBaked Hockey Club in 2019-20, putting up 10 goals and 29 assists in 55 games. He will also be the Warriors’ first college committed player, having verbally committed to play Division I hockey at Lake Superior State College.
“Jack is a very talented defenseman that we are excited about adding to our d-corps. He has high character and the maturity to be able to have an impact in our locker room immediately,” Warriors Head Coach Garrett Roth said. “His vision and poise will allow him to have success breaking pressure in the defensive zone as well as the ability to contribute offensively.”
Blanchett is the third defenseman and the tenth overall player tendered by the Warriors as they continue to work towards building their roster. He joins fellow defenseman Lane Ruffner, Max Techel, forwards Luke Panchisin, Nick Urtis, Chase Davis, Sam Myers, Alex Walker, and goalies Sean Guerin and Owen Bartoszkiewicz in a strong recruiting class for the upcoming 2020-21 season, the Warriors’ first in the league.

*A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL – plus or minus any trades – which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 2, 2020. *
