WICHITA FALLS, TX — The Warriors are pleased to announce that the team has acquired 2001-born defenseman Zane Demsey in a trade with the Minnesota Wilderness.
Demsey (6-foot, 200 pounds) has 44 NAHL games under his belt between his time with the Wilderness and the Chippewa Steel. The left-handed skater put up a goal and eight assists last season. Prior to 2019-20, the Michigan native played for the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies organization.
After his junior career, Demsey is committed to play Division I hockey at Michigan State University.
“Zane is a player we have been going after since the season ended due to Covid-19. He has a high hockey IQ that allows him to be really effective in all three zones,” Head Coach Garrett Roth said. “Zane will be a huge part of our d-corps and we expect him to be an anchor on our back end.”
Fans can catch Demsey at games this fall in the Warriors’ inaugural season. Season tickets are currently on sale here.
Players interested in being part of the Warriors can currently register for Pre-Draft Camp here.
