WICHITA FALLS, TX — The Warriors are pleased to announce the addition of Chris Johansen to their staff as the team’s goaltender coach. Johansen has worked with goaltenders ranging from youth to professional levels and brings years of experience with him to Wichita Falls.
“It’s extremely valuable to have someone that can work and help with the development of your goaltenders on the mental side as well as from a technique standpoint,” Warriors head coach Garrett Roth said. “Chris has worked with past NAHL teams in Wichita Falls as well as goaltenders with the Allen Americans of the ECHL. As an organization we are excited to have him join our staff and be an integral part of our expansion season.”
“I’m extremely excited to join Coach Roth and Coach Kelly on the Wichita Falls Warriors coaching staff,” Johansen said. “I’ve been eyeing the position ever since I heard the team was coming into the league and I’m ready to get to work. It’s going to be fun helping build the program and helping facilitate the growth of our goaltenders.”
The Warriors will take the ice for their inaugural season in 2020-21. Season tickets are available here. Skaters and goalies interested in playing for the Warriors can register for Pre-Draft Camp here.
