WICHITA FALLS, TX — The Wichita Falls Warriors are pleased to announce that they have signed 2002-born goaltender Sean Guerin to a tender contract for the 2020-21 season.
Guerin is in his first season of junior hockey as a 17-year-old with the NA3HL’s Rochester Grizzlies. This season, he has posted a 7-1-2 record with a 2.25 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. The 6-foot-2 goaltender describes himself as a “technically sound goalie [who uses] my size to my advantage.”
“I’m excited for the opportunity to be a part of making a new culture of hockey in Wichita Falls,” Guerin said. “Although I’m young I feel I bring a sense of leadership to the team as well.”
Guerin is the fifth overall player tendered by the Warriors as they continue to work towards building their roster. He joins Chase Davis (F), Luke Panchisin (F), Nick Urtis (F), and Lane Ruffner (D) in a strong recruiting class for the upcoming 2020-21 season, the Warriors’ first in the league.
Season tickets for the inaugural season are available now for as little as $24 per month! Fans can learn more by clicking here.
The Warriors have announced the dates and locations of their two camps prior to the NAHL Draft. More information can be found here and players can register for camps here.
*A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL – plus or minus any trades – which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 2, 2020. *
