Forward Nick Urtis Signs Tender Contract with Warriors

WICHITA FALLS, TX — The Wichita Falls Warriors are pleased to announce that they have signed 2002-born, right-handed forward Nick Urtis to a tender contract for the 2020-21 season.

The 5-foot-9, 160-pound Illinois native is currently playing in the High Performance Hockey League (HPHL) with the U18 Chicago Mission.  This is his first season with the U18 team and his third overall with the Chicago Mission organization. In 35 games played so far this year, Urtis has been a point-per-game player, registering 10 goals and 20 assists.

“The coaching staff and people who run the program [at Wichita Falls] want to win and develop their players, which is something that I appreciate,” Urtis said. “I will bring solid offense and would describe myself as a very capable player on both sides of the ice.

Urtis is the second forward and third overall player tendered by Wichita Falls as they continue to work towards building their roster. Urtis joins Luke Panchisin (F) and Lane Ruffner (D) in a strong recruiting class for the upcoming 2020-21 season, the Warriors’ first in the league.

Season tickets for the inaugural season are available now for as little as $24 per month! Fans can learn more by clicking here.

*A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL – plus or minus any trades – which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 2, 2020. *
