The Wichita Falls Warriors had six draft picks in the 2021-2022 North American Hockey League Entry Draft held on July 14th. After just one year as a team the Warriors look to bolster their roster heading into year two.
With the 23rd overall pick in the draft the Wichita Falls Warriors selected Jackson Glassford, Goalie from Nanoose Bay, BC, CAN. Glassford is part of the 2001 class standing at 6’4” and weighs 185lbs. In Glassfords’ last season with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, he started in 21 games where he recorded a 3.25 GAA and a .915 SV%. In the 21 games played, Glassford finished with a record of 12-7-1. Glassford has made his NCAA commitment to Long Island University.
In the second round the Warriors had two picks. Their first pick of the second round at pick number 50 the Wichita Falls Warriors selected Rylan Brady, Forward from Jackson, MI. Brady is part of the 2004 class standing at 6’1’’and weighs 174lbs. In Bradys’ last season with the Fox Motors 16U AAA he started in 16 games and scored five goals and recorded five assists. Brady has made his NCAA commitment to Lake Superior State University where Warriors defenseman Jack Blanchett is also committed to.
With the 52nd selection the Warriors selected Max Dronen, Forward from Moorhead, MN. Dronen is part of the 2003 class standing at 6’0” and weighing 170 lbs. In this last year Dronen played on two different teams. At Moorhead High, Dronen played 22 games tallying 10 goals and 14 assists. While Dronen was with Team Sanford Power, Dronen played 18 games tallying 3 goals and 8 assists.
Heading into the sixth round the Warriors had pick number 168 and selected Hunter McDonald, a defenseman from Fairport, NY. Mcdonald is part of the 2002 class standing at 6’3” and weighs 194lbs. In his last season with the Omaha Lancers, Mcdonald played 36 games tallying 2 goals and 3 assists. Mcdonald has already made his NCAA commitment to Rensselaer Polytech Institute.
In the seventh round the Warriors had pick 197 and made a very familiar selection in PJ Neal, a forward from Greenwich, CT. Neal is a part of the 2003 class standing at 5’8” and weighs 181 lbs. Neal played on three teams in the 2020-2021 season, including a small stint here with the Warriors. In his 10 games played with the Warriors, Neal tallied one goal and one assist.
The Warriors 2021 NAHL Entry Draft concluded with pick number 226 as the Warriors selected defenseman Sam Miller from Denver, CO. Miller is part of the 2001 class standing at 6’1” and weighs 181 lbs. Miller played on the Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers last season and played in 40 games tallying 7 goals and 25 assists.
