WICHITA FALLS, TX – The Wichita Falls Warriors have tendered 2003 defenseman Yahor Ramanau for the 2021-22 North American Hockey League season.
The 6 foot 1, 175 pound, left-handed defenseman from Minsk, Belarus is currently playing with the Esmark Stars of the NAPHL. This 2020-21 season with the Stars, Ramanau has recorded a total of 40 points on 12 goals and 28 assists in 54 games played, and is second in scoring for defenseman in the NAPHL playoffs. “I’ve learned a lot in my 4 years with the Stars.” said Ramanau. “Our coaches know a lot about junior and professional hockey and have a lot of experience, so they know what to do to prepare and help us get to that next level.”
Ramanau looks to join a Warriors defensive unit that fits his style of play, “I like to join the rush and help our forwards with putting pucks in the net.” After signing the tender, it’s clear that the Belarus native could not be more excited to get to Wichita Falls and get to work. “This team is there to win and they are having a pretty good season so far, so I am super excited to spend the next couple of years with the Warriors.”
The Warriors coaching staff knows that they are getting a defenseman who has proven that he can play the Warriors style of hockey. “Yahor is a good skating, puck moving defenseman who likes to join the play”, said Warriors Associate Head Coach Keenan Kelly. “His playing style and ability fall in line with how we like our defenseman to play.” The Warriors organization looks forward to Ramanau’s arrival and adding another skilled defenseman to the team. “He plays for a good program in Esmark, who has a long track record of developing players for the NAHL. We are excited to be able to add a player of his caliber to our group.”
