WICHITA FALLS, TX – The Wichita Falls Warriors are pleased to announce the tender of 2004 defenseman Nick Comfort.
The Saline, Michigan native became familiar with head coach Garrett Roth after attending a few camps that Roth was in charge of. It was at those camps that Comfort realized he wanted to play for the second year head coach. “Coach Roth and I have established a great relationship as I have attended multiple camps under his guidance. His coaching style and focus on development influenced my decision to want to play for him.”
Roth is just as excited for the opportunity to coach the defenseman. “Nick is a high character kid that brings a compete level every time he touches the ice,” said Roth. “He can play in any situation and will be a really nice addition to our D-core. We are excited to get him onboard!”
Off the ice, Comfort spends his summer water-skiing and wakeboarding, but on the ice, the puck-moving defenseman looks forward to bringing his gritty side to the already impressive Warriors backend that has only allowed 35 goals this season, good for fifth in the NAHL. Currently, Comfort plays for Compuware 18U AAA where he has four points through nine games.
